20 Reasons to Re-Elect President Trump
Israel has always been a good friend to the United States.
Under President Trump, the United States has been an exceptionally good friend to Israel.
Here’s how:
He’s spreading peace in the region.
President Trump has successfully brokered two peace agreements between Israel and Arab nations. The first with the United Arab Emirates. The second with Bahrain.
These were the first Israel-Arab peace deals since 1994. That means that what others couldn’t do in 26 years, he did in less than four.
Israel now has full diplomatic ties with Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain and the UAE. That means that he doubled the number of Arab nations having full diplomatic ties with Israel.
Other Arab nations in talks for similar deals include Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Sudan and Oman.
Some believe that these deals may help end the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.
Under President Trump, the United States has brought greater peace and security to Israel and the Middle East.
UPDATE: A third peace agreement was announced on October 23, 2020, between Israel and Sudan.
He recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
The Jerusalem Embassy Act, which became US law in 1995, recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
It also required the US embassy to be located there. However, claiming “national security” concerns, Presidents Clinton, Bush and Obama all refused to order the relocation from Tel Aviv.
This meant, in effect, that the United States didn’t recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
President Trump finally ordered the move and the new embassy opened in 2018 — 23 years after the Jerusalem Embassy Act was passed.
With this action President Trump let the world know that the United States recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Other countries have now followed America’s lead including, most recently, Serbia.
It’s worth noting that John Kerry, as he was leaving the State Department in 2017, predicted “an explosion” in the Middle East if the embassy were to be moved.
“You’d have an explosion — an absolute explosion in the region, not just in the West Bank, and perhaps even in Israel itself, but throughout the region,” he said.
Instead, we have two peace deals, and more in the works.
He recognized the Golan Heights as Israeli territory.
After decades of attacks by the Syrian military, Israel fought back and captured the Golan Heights in the 1967 war.
Today, the Golan provides Israel with defensive positions against potential attacks from Syria and its allies / proxies.
Although Israel has been operating in the Golan for decades, President Trump finally recognized Israeli sovereignty over the land.
“After 52 years it is time for the United States to fully recognize Israel’s Sovereignty over the Golan Heights, which is of critical strategic and security importance to the State of Israel and Regional Stability!”
He’s fighting anti-Semitism.
President Trump issued the “Executive Order on Combating Anti-Semitism”, which states:
My Administration is committed to combating the rise of anti-Semitism and anti-Semitic incidents in the United States and around the world. Anti-Semitic incidents have increased since 2013, and students, in particular, continue to face anti Semitic harassment in schools and on university and college campuses.
This order is a response to rising anti-Semitism in general, but to the “Boycott, Divestments, Sanctions” (BDS) movement, in particular, which seeks to hurt the Israeli economy.
The order cuts off federal aid to institutions that don’t respond to anti-Semitism in the same way they would to racism, sexism or other forms of hatred.
“This is our message to universities: If you want to accept the tremendous amount of federal dollars that you get every year, you must reject anti-Semitism.”
He hasn’t cut foreign aid to Israel.
Despite cutting foreign aid in many areas, President Trump has not cut foreign aid to Israel.
He withdrew the United States from the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).
A blatantly anti-Semitic and corrupt organization, with a consistent bias against Israel, President Trump withdrew the US from the UNHRC.
US Ambassador to the UN at the time, Nikki Haley, said:
“I want to make it crystal clear that this step is not a retreat from human rights commitments. On the contrary, we take this step because our commitment does not allow us to remain a part of a hypocritical and self-serving organization that makes a mockery of human rights.”
The UNHRC, which (ironically) includes Venezuela, China, Cuba, DR Congo, Saudi Arabia and other repressive regimes, spends a great deal of time passing resolutions that condemn Israel, the only liberal democracy in the Middle East.
By pulling the US out, President Trump stood up for actual human rights, Israel and the Jewish people.
For these and many other reasons, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that President Trump is “the best friend that Israel has ever had in the White House”.
