First, let’s be clear about who the United States was dealing with:

  1. The Iranian regime is responsible for kidnapping, torturing and killing thousands of Americans.
  2. The Iranian regime openly calls for the destruction of the United States with chants of “death to America”.
  3. The Iranian regime is the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism, arming and funding violent militias such as Hamas, Hezbollah, al-Qaeda and the Taliban.
  4. The Iranian regime has executed thousands of political prisoners, including 30,000 in 1988 — a massacre known by many as “the worst crime against humanity in the second half of the 20th century”.
  5. The Iranian regime, in keeping with their shoot-to-kill policy, gunned down 1,500 people during nationwide protests in 2019.
  6. The Iranian regime has executed thousands of homosexual men and women, including teenagers. In fact, Iran is considered the most dangerous place in the world for gay people.
  7. Teenagers accused of theft get their fingers chopped off.

There’s a lot more to say about this genocidal regime.

But knowing that alone, why on earth would the United States enter into negotiations with these psychopaths?

  • They don’t care about human life beyond themselves.
  • There’s no reason to trust them.
  • There is no reason to think they want peaceful coexistence.

Regardless, President Obama went full steam ahead with the Iran Nuclear Deal, assuring Americans that the Mullahs would play nice and end their nuclear weapons program.

Doubling down on his trust and affection for these monsters, he sent them $1.7 billion in cash.

Lastly, he allowed the restrictions in the deal to expire in 2030.

Recognizing the madness of it all, President Trump pulled the U.S. out of the agreement, declaring that:

“The Iran Deal was one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the United States has ever entered into.”

He also reimposed the economic sanctions that Obama had lifted.
