But defunding it? Bad. Here’s why: It could only make things worse.

I respectfully disagree. There’s no benefit to the US in funding the WHO. Their failure has cost thousands of American lives and trillions to the U.S. economy (many will die from this, too).

Plus, as you pointed out, the WHO’s actions are evidence of a pro-China, anti-America agenda.

The U.S. has been sending money to corrupt and incompetent governments and NGOs for decades (e.g., WHO, WTO, UN, Iran ($1.7 billion cash by Obama), etc.). It hasn’t worked out well for us. That money would be much better spent supporting true American interests, like education, infrastructure, military readiness and small businesses here.

Trump’s BIG mistake was actually trusting China and the WHO in January and February. Why on earth would we put our trust in a UN offshoot or a regime that still claims only 300 died in the Tiananmen Square Massacre? Taiwan, according to your article, got it right.

In fact, one of the first things the U.S. should do, when the dust settles from this national crisis, is recognize Taiwan and support the protesters in Hong Kong.
